Based on your own opinion and your own experiences, which has it easier in life: men or women? Why?
By Pauline Bulala
Based on an opinion and not a fact, I personally think women have it easier in life. Even though women go through the pain of delivering a child and other physical burdens, those are physical and cannot be helped. Women are always viewing men to be the strong one and to be the one to provide for a family. All that pressure may be hard for most males to endure. Men have to worry about providing food and shelter for their families and are deemed as the head of the family. There may also be perks for women to be viewed as the weaker gender, for most are willing to help a woman far more often than help a man. If a man and woman were drowning, and a rescuer had only enough strength to help one person into a helicopter, the woman would be more likely to be saved first. If he had saved the man and left the woman to drown, he would be viewed as “foolish.” When a man gets abused and beaten, he gets a sliver of sympathy and maybe told to “fight back and grow up.” But if a woman gets abused and beaten, most will spring up and dive in to help.
There is also a law stating that it is illegal for men to hit women, and though I do not support women hitting or abusing men, men have to worry about getting punched and beaten without any repercussions or consequences since they are viewed as the “stronger” gender. When things get serious internationally, men have to get drafted into the army, whereas women can choose whether or not to fight. On the other hand, everybody is different and everyone has their challenges. There are women and men with hard-working and grueling lives while other men and women live lives of plush comfort and lavish wealth. Both genders are different, and those differences balance society out.

The male population has life easier than the female population. Males, typically, work and make more money than females. They are usually the breadwinners of the family. Women work in the house cleaning and cooking to make sure that all is well on the home front. Women are also more inclined to do the majority of the child rearing, taking little Johnny to soccer practice, little Sarah to swimming, and little Sam to karate. Women stay on the go more to provide for their family as the males have one task of working and making paying the bills. It is common for males to complete most of the yard work and construction tasks that need to be handled at the home, but this is not as often as the women. In today’s society, women work a full time job and complete the above duties to make sure that all is functioning well at home. Statistics say that 4 out of every 10 women bring home more income than their spouse. (I just read about this in the newspaper.) Males usually do not worry about things as much as females do. Females dwell on the small things whereas men can let things go easier. Males are typically not as emotional as females which can be very tiring. All in all, the male population has life easier, but in most cases it takes the husband and wife working together to have a successful marriage.
